One of the most frequent questions we get here at lothar.com is:

Hey. Your name is Brian Warner.

Marilyn Manson's real name is Brian Warner...

are you Marilyn Manson?

(for those not familiar, Marilyn Manson is the stage name of the lead singer of a band also called Marilyn Manson, best described by my friend Erik as a bunch of "poser Satanists". Kind of like a post-modern extra-goth version of Ozzie Osborne. Heavy on the shock value. I haven't actually listened to any of their music, although I was rather amused by the fact that they have an album entitled "Antichrist Superstar").

Well, I'll let you be the judge. Take a look at me, and take a look at the lead singer, and see if you notice any resemblance.

I did see in a book that the Brian Warner in question was born in Ohio around the same decade that I was born in Ohio, so perhaps we are related. But my Methodist Warner-side grandparents have never mentioned any 2nd-cousins that grew up to be ... well, a celebrity in the music business, so unless I run across a genealogist who's also big on the modern goth-rock scene, I may never know.
